The Israeli government has approved the submission of the agreement to normalize diplomatic relations between Morocco and Israel to the Knesset for ratification.
The government decided, on Sunday, to submit the agreement to normalize diplomatic relations between Morocco and Israel to the Knesset for ratification, report Israeli media. In addition to the transmission of the agreement, the government discussed the likely suspension of flights to and from Israel in the face of new Covid-19 variants.
Morocco is the fourth Arab country to restore its relations with the Hebrew state after the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Sudan. During the visit of an American-Israeli delegation to Rabat on December 22, 2020, a joint declaration had been signed between Morocco, the United States and Israel in the effective presence of King Mohammed VI. It was agreed that each party will have fully honored its commitments by the end of January, and that it will have identified new actions.
