Morocco to Invest $380 Million in High-Speed Rail Link to Casablanca Airport

Morocco intends to connect its Al Boraq TGV to the Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca. This is one of the flagship projects on the 2020 agenda of the Ministry of Equipment and Transport.
Morocco will invest 3.8 billion dirhams to connect the high-speed train Al Boraq to the Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca, said Abdelkader Amara, Minister of Equipment and Transport during recent field visits in the Casablanca-Settat region last week.
He recalled that Al Boraq, the Moroccan TGV, is one of the flagship projects of the kingdom, realized and inaugurated on November 15, 2018 and then put into service for travelers on November 26, 2018. According to statistics from the National Railway Office (ONCF), the TGV transported 3 million passengers in 2019.
Focusing on the budget of his department, Amara Abdelkader hinted that the ongoing rail projects in the Casablanca-Settat region have required an investment budget of 10 billion dirhams.
