To join the club of the 20 largest rail networks in the world by 2020. This is Morocco’s ambition.
At the opening of the 5th edition of the World Congress on Railway Training, Abdelkader Amara, Minister of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water, discussed the latest World Economic Forum (WEF) report.
According to him, Morocco’s positioning on the international and regional chessboard is the best consecration.
For him, it is clear that human capital remains the essence and cornerstone of success, which lies at the heart of the deep transformation that the rail transport sector is undergoing.
Abdelkader Amara added that this transformation is in line with the Kingdom’s orientations, with a particular emphasis on education and training.
Furthermore, the Minister of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water highlighted the actions taken by Morocco to have an impact on its rail sector.
This involves the implementation of major investment programs, which required the mobilization of more than 70 billion dirhams between 2008 and 2018. And the high-speed train, "Al Boraq", is one of the flagship achievements.
