Morocco’s Internet Subscribers Surge 11%, Reaching 25 Million in 2019

Another good progress for the base of Internet subscribers in Morocco with an increase of more than 11% during the year 2019.
According to the National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ANRT), the Internet subscriber base reached 25.38 million in 2019, an increase of 11.43% compared to 2018. The penetration rate stood at 71.33%.
The growth is 11.22% to 23.68 million subscribers for the mobile Internet segment alone. 4G has boomed by 63.66% to 15.72 million subscribers, the ANRT said. As for the mobile telephony base, it stood at 46.67 million, an increase of 4.31% (20.54% for post-paid and 2.76% for pre-paid) and a penetration rate of 131.14%.
The fixed telephony base reached 2.05 million, down 6.58%, i.e. a penetration rate of 5.77%.
