Morocco’s High-Speed Rail Project Advances: Agadir Station Land Acquisition Underway

Five months after securing the land base that will be dedicated to the new TGV station in Agadir, it is the turn of the city authorities to invite all the families operating the land in question to register and submit their grievances.
In a press release, the authorities specified that the operation, which concerns the 16-hectare plot of land located in the Hay Mohammadi district (Agadir Ida-Outanane prefecture), will take place from September 21, 2020 to November 21, 2021.
Last May, a decree published in the Official Bulletin had allowed the National Railway Office to have a 16-hectare plot of land from the private domain of the State.
Let us recall that King Mohammed VI had called on the various stakeholders to conduct an in-depth reflection on the implementation of a railway line connecting Marrakech to Agadir. Recommendations motivated by the desire to connect the project to the southern provinces.
