Morocco Held to Goalless Draw by Malawi in Final AFCON 2019 Qualifier

The last match of the Moroccan national football team counting towards the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) qualifiers ended this Saturday in a 0-0 draw against the Malawi team.
The match, without stakes for the Atlas Lions as they were already qualified, was dominated by the Moroccan team who missed scoring twice thanks to the good performance of the player Rachid Alioui and the two free kicks that brushed the post.
The second half was totally boring for the spectators and the poor quality of the pitch spoiled by the showers in the first half did not give any spice to the confrontation.
These CAN 2019 qualifiers therefore end with a well-deserved first place for Morocco in group B and 11 points on the board but the real things start next June in Egypt where it will have to raise its level if it wants to go far in this competition.
It should be noted that Morocco will meet the Argentine team next week (March 26) in a friendly match and it would not be surprising if coach Hervé Renard calls up a completely revamped team.
