Morocco Held to 1-1 Draw by Burkina Faso in Halilhodzic’s Debut as Coach

No victory, on Friday September 6 evening, for Vahid Halilhodzic’s first match at the head of the Moroccan national team. The Atlas Lions had to settle for a draw against the Burkina Faso team.
1-1, this is the final score of this match which took place at the Grand Stade de Marrakech, where the Moroccan players now have their habits. The match allowed the new coach to rotate his squad in order to find the right combination of players.
The two goals of the match were scored in the second half, first by Burkina Faso in the 71st minute by Cyrille Bayala, following an error by Munir Kajoui Mohamedi, before Morocco equalized at the end of the game by Zouhair Feddal, called up at the last minute by the national coach, to make up for the absence of some injured players during the preparation.
It is worth noting that the curse continues for Hakim Ziyech who, again, missed a penalty in the 50th minute. The player was booed by the few supporters present in the stadium.
The next match for the Moroccans is on Tuesday, September 10, again in a friendly match, at the same stadium and this time against Niger. Vahid Halilhodzic should also rotate his squad.
