Morocco Held to 1-1 Draw by Libya in International Friendly

The victory promised by the national coach, Vahid Halilhodzic, did not ultimately take place yesterday at the Stade d’Honneur in Oujda. The Moroccans drew against their Libyan counterparts in this friendly match.
It was the Atlas Lions who opened the scoring in the 20th minute through Jaouad Yameq, served by a very nice corner kick taken by Fayçal Fajr. About twenty minutes later, it was the equalization by the Libyan team after a big scramble in the penalty area. The score remained unchanged until the final whistle.
Next Tuesday, the Moroccan team will play another match, still in a friendly, against the Gabonese team. The match will be played at the Grand Stadium in Marrakech, which the Moroccan players appreciate a lot.
Note that these two matches are part of the preparation of the Atlas Lions for the qualifications of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) 2021, scheduled in Cameroon.
The serious things should start next month with an important match against Mauritania, a team that has been on the rise in recent years. This will be the first day of Group 5.
