Morocco Heightens Security Measures Nationwide for Eid al-Fitr Holiday

On the firm instructions of the DGSN, all the wilayas of the police and police districts are strongly mobilized, to strengthen their security system in airports, train stations, bus stations and public spaces, on the eve of Eid al-Fitr.

As Eid al-Fitr approaches, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) is deploying major resources to guarantee peace to the population, allowing them to spend pleasant holiday moments. This is why, informs the360.ma, "the proactive measures taken by the DGSN, to supervise and secure the movements of citizens during their visits to their loved ones".

To this end, the heads of the external services in the wilayas of the police and the police districts throughout the national territory have received firm instructions, for a systematic strengthening of security measures more specifically in airports, hotels, train stations, bus stations, bus and tram stations. In other words, it is announced the implementation of several patrol operations, on foot and mobile, day and night, to strengthen security around public spaces.

As is customary, on the eve of the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, road traffic is intensifying, due to the massive movements of people. This leads the information site to write, citing the daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia in its edition of Wednesday, May 29, that "this logistical and human mobilization is carried out in coordination with the directorates of the Royal Gendarmerie and the auxiliary forces".

In this same dynamic, a police emergency service will be provided 24 hours a day in the headquarters of the police and the police premises, as well as a campaign to arrest wanted persons and a sweep of reported dangerous areas.
