Morocco to Celebrate Eid Al Fitr on Wednesday, Marking End of Ramadan

Eid Al Fitr will be celebrated this Wednesday, June 5 in Morocco. This was announced this evening by the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs.
A statement from the ministry states that the Nadirs and delegates of Islamic Affairs throughout the Kingdom as well as the units of the Royal Armed Forces associated with the observation have confirmed, Tuesday, 29 Ramadan 1440 of the Hegira, after the Al Maghrib prayer, having observed the crescent moon announcing the beginning of the month of Shawwal.
The 1st of Shawwal 1440, the day of Eid Al Fitr marking the end of Ramadan, therefore corresponds to Wednesday, June 5, 2018.
In France, as in Belgium and in many European and Muslim countries, Eid Al Fitr was celebrated today, Tuesday, June 4. In other countries, such as Mali for example, the holiday was celebrated as early as Monday!
