Moroccan Police Seize Over 5 Tons of Drugs, Make Arrests During Eid al-Fitr

The Moroccan police performed feats in their interventions in Essaouira, Nador and Guelmim, the day before and on the day of the celebration of Eid al-Fitr. This is the result of the good progress of the collaboration between the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).
On Saturday, the eve of Eid al-Fitr, the Nador police elements thwarted an attempt to traffic drugs and arrested the alleged traffickers. In total, five tons and 450 kg of chira on board a utility vehicle registered in Morocco were seized. The same day, the Salé police services arrested five individuals involved in a murder case that took place in the Lâayayda area.
On Sunday, the day of the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, the judicial police brigade of the provincial security district, proceeded to seize three tons of chira on board a road freight transport truck in the city of Guelmim. This, thanks to the precise information provided by the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).
In addition to these interventions, the police services also invested in other regions and provinces of the country where they ensured strict compliance with the containment measures imposed by the Moroccan authorities in order to curb the spread of the coronavirus in the kingdom.
