Moroccan Police Seize 3 Tons of Cannabis in Major Drug Bust Near Guelmim

The judicial police brigade of the provincial security district of Guelmim thwarted on Sunday an attempt to traffic drugs. Three tons of cannabis resin were seized from a freight transport truck.
The security operation set up in collaboration with the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) made it possible to intercept the truck at the level of the commune of "Tagante", 30 kilometers north of Guelmim, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
Thanks to the search operation, this drug cargo, packaged in 94 packages and conditioned among another cargo of agricultural products, was seized.
The driver of the vehicle and his two companions, arrested, were taken into custody for the purposes of the investigation.
