Moroccan Police Seize 2 Tons of Hashish Hidden in Hay Truck in Fès

A truck driver was arrested on Wednesday by elements of the prefectural judicial police service in the city of Fès. The regular activity of the suspect was accompanied by another, unfortunately illegal: drug trafficking.
Following search operations in this truck registered in Morocco, the agents seized two tons of hashish in the form of 75 slabs hidden in a cargo of hay. During the same search, a sum of money suspected of being the proceeds of this criminal activity, according to a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), was also found and seized. The 33-year-old suspect was arrested by the elements of the prefectural judicial police service in the city of Fès on Wednesday and taken into custody for the purposes of the preliminary investigation.
Further investigations are also underway to identify and arrest all the actors involved in this case. It was on the basis of information provided by the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) that this truck driver was arrested.
