Massive Drug Bust in Casablanca: Couple Arrested with 3.5 Tons of Narcotics

Two individuals, including a woman, were arrested on Sunday for their alleged involvement in a 3.5-ton drug trafficking operation.
The operation, carried out by the prefectural judicial police service of Casablanca, in collaboration with the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), made it possible to intercept the truck, coming from one of the cities in the north of the kingdom, near the city of Casablanca, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
The search operations made it possible to seize 106 packages of 3.5 tons of drugs, carefully hidden in a cargo of fodder products.
According to the DGSN, the two suspects arrested, the driver and a woman, both had criminal records for drug trafficking.
For the needs of the investigation, the two defendants were placed in custody.
