Morocco’s New Government to Be Unveiled by October 1, Coalition Talks Continue

The members of the majority are continuing negotiations for the formation of the new government. On Wednesday, Aziz Akhannouch and his allies met to finalize the last adjustments. The composition is announced before October 1st.
Moroccans will have to wait a few more days to discover the face of the next government team. The reason is that the tripartite coalition formed by the RNI, the PAM and the Istiqlal continues to build it up.
According to a source reported by Article 19, meetings are planned over the next two days to discuss the architecture of the next executive and the distribution of ministerial portfolios.
For now, the indiscretions indicate that the RNI, the big winner of the elections, would have reserved ten ministerial portfolios for its two allies, taking the rest of the positions.
Moreover, the ongoing discussions do not concern the main ministries such as Foreign Affairs, Defense and Habous, adding that the names circulating on social networks are pure speculation.
