Morocco's New PM Akhannouch Begins Forming Government Coalition

The piles of CVs are growing on the desk of the newly appointed head of the executive, Aziz Akhannouch after the formation of a governing coalition composed of the National Rally of Independents (RNI), the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) and the Istiqlal Party (PI).

Aziz Akhannouch is active in the formation of his government. Members of the new governing coalition composed of the National Rally of Independents (RNI), the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) and the Istiqlal Party (PI) have placed piles of CVs of potential ministers on the desk of the new head of the executive. Some parties had to resort to certain activists of their formations who had frozen their memberships, or even sympathizers who had worked on the electoral programs, to finalize the lists of potential ministers, reports Al Ahdath Al Maghribia. This difficulty is explained by the respect of the criteria agreed between the three parties: to propose the name of candidates who have never had government responsibilities, to present women and young people at the head of the next ministries.

The new government architecture will not resemble the outgoing executive. It is planned to allocate some portfolios in the new hubs wanted by the designated head of government, Aziz Akhannouch, for more efficiency of the new government team. The new government intends to reform several public institutions. A project started at the end of the term of the El Othmani government, under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
