Morocco’s Government Reshuffle: USFP Party Poised to Join Akhannouch Coalition

For a few days now, information has been circulating about the preparation of a government reshuffle. Will the Union of Socialist Forces (USFP) be the fourth political party to join Akhannouch’s team?
Things seem to be taking shape for the government reshuffle. According to a well-placed source within the governing coalition, the Union of Socialist Forces (USFP) could join the governing coalition, as it meets all the criteria of stability and organizational strength, reports the Arabic-language daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia. However, this source did not specify the number of ministerial portfolios that will be allocated to the Rose party led by Driss Lachgar.
The governing coalition is composed of the National Rally of Independents (RNI), the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) and the Istiqlal Party (PI), the three parties that came out on top in the September 8, 2021 legislative elections. A coalition that the USFP wanted to be part of. Its secretary general Driss Lachgar had not digested his exclusion and had even predicted the explosion of the coalition. His possible integration into the government majority will certainly change his mind.
