Justice Minister Ouahbi Addresses Rumors of Potential Government Reshuffle in Morocco

Justice Minister Abdellatif Ouahbi, who is also Secretary General of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), would be one of the ministers on the list of departures if a readjustment of the government team is confirmed.
Will Abdellatif Ouahbi lose his portfolio in an imminent reshuffle? In a statement to the daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia, the Minister of Justice says he is not aware of it. However, he acknowledged that the duration of any government is technically and constitutionally limited and that a minister must know from the moment he enters the government that he may only spend a few days or a few months in his position, or even complete a five-year term.
The minister also said that Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch has never informed him of a ministerial reshuffle or his departure from the government. According to him, no adjustment of the government team is on the agenda at this time, when some ministers are on vacation. Others are awaiting a 15-day summer break. Abdellatif Ouahbi, for his part, is acting as interim for his colleague on vacation, Chakib Benmoussa, Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports.
