Morocco Given 0.01% Chance of World Cup Victory, Stats Firm Says
Morocco’s chances of winning the next World Cup in Qatar would be virtually nil, or 0.01%, according to the British sports statistics company "OPTA Sports".
A few months before the start of the competition, the entity specialized in sports data has revealed the chances of the teams that can win the Holy Grail, based on recent performances.
According to the statistics, Morocco has been credited with a 0.01% chance of winning the next cup, ranking 28th among the title contenders, tied with one of its opponents in the group stage, Canada, which has the same chance rate as it does.
On the other hand, its two other group F opponents are better off. Belgium came 5th in the order of title contenders, with 7.90% chances. Croatia, on the other hand, came 10th, with 2.03% chances. France (17.93%), Brazil (15.73%) and Spain (11.53%) are the three big favorites for Opta.
