Morocco Given 1.9% Chance to Reach World Cup Final, Brazil Favored to Win

The quarter-finals of the World Cup start next Saturday with an enticing Morocco-Portugal match. As usual at this stage, many observers try to predict the outcome of the matches using statistical models.
Thus, according to Gracenote, an American company specializing in probabilities and statistics, Morocco, despite its performances in the various phases of the tournament, is not on the list of favorites to win the title. However, the Atlas Lions are credited with 1.9% chance of reaching the final.
At the top of the ranking of favorites to win the tournament, the company has placed Brazil with 25% of the chances. With 20%, Argentina ranks second. They are followed by Portugal (13%), France (11%), the Netherlands (11%) and then England (10%).
Regarding the finalists of the competition, the company suggests that the Brazilians have a 39% chance of reaching the final. We then find the Argentines (31%), the Portuguese (30%) and the French (27%). This final could oppose in 11.9% of chances, La Seleção to Portugal, indicates the same source.
