Mohammed VI Foundation Expands Ramadan Food Aid to 3 Million Vulnerable Moroccans

About three million vulnerable Moroccans will benefit from the Ramadan 1441 food aid. This act of solidarity is the work of the Mohammed VI Foundation, which has extended it to an additional 100,000 families this year.

3 million of the most vulnerable people will benefit this year from the Ramadan 1441 food aid. According to the Mohammed VI Foundation, 600,000 underprivileged families, including 459,504 living in rural areas, will benefit from this operation. These are widows, the elderly and people with disabilities from the poor and rural areas of 83 provinces and prefectures spread across the entire territory of the kingdom.

To demonstrate the kingdom’s solidarity with families and people living in precariousness during the covid-19 crisis. This is the objective sought by King Mohammed VI by giving instructions for the launch of the Ramadan 1441 food distribution operation, reports the daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia. Due to covid-19, the foundation has expanded the operation to 100,000 additional families compared to last year.

The Ramadan 1441 food aid basket consists of 7 essential products. These are flour, sugar, tea, lentils, vermicelli, oil and tomato concentrate. It is part of the national mobilization against coronavirus and its socio-economic repercussions on families and people living in precariousness. Anti-covid-19 hygiene and safety measures have been taken into account as part of the distribution operation. An operation placed under the supervision of the provincial and local committees.
