Morocco Food Poisoning Risk: What Tourists Need to Know

Morocco is among the tourist destinations where the likelihood of suffering from food poisoning is high, according to the renowned British newspaper Daily Mail. In addition to the kingdom, the list includes countries such as Egypt, Spain, Mexico, Southeast Asia, Bali, and others.

The British newspaper compiled this list based on several recent and past cases. It recalls that, in the summer of 2019, 89 British tourists suffered from gastroenteritis while staying at a hotel complex in Lanzarote, in the Canary Islands. Hygiene problems at the hotel were reportedly the cause of the situation. Cases of food poisoning were recorded at the same establishment during the Christmas holidays in 2022.
