Moroccan Market Mayhem: 29 Sickened in Sandwich Food Poisoning Outbreak Near Kénitra

Nearly thirty people were victims of food poisoning on Monday after consuming sandwiches near Kénitra.
New food poisoning in Morocco. In total, 29 people presented symptoms of severe food poisoning after eating sandwiches at a weekly market near the town of Souk El Arbaa, not far from Kénitra. They were first taken to the local hospital in Souk El Arbaa for initial treatment, then transferred to the Zemmouri hospital for additional care.
The affected people began to experience symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain shortly after consuming the food, explains the director of the Zemouri hospital to SNRT News. Fortunately, most of the patients responded well to the treatment and were able to leave the hospital on Tuesday. However, eight patients remain under medical supervision. They should be discharged from the hospital on Wednesday, he added.
For now, the local authorities have not yet made an official statement. However, an investigation should be opened to identify the exact source of the contamination and determine the responsibilities.
