Morocco Foils Daesh Plot: Chemical Weapons and Explosives Seized in Terror Cell Raid

The expertise carried out on the suspicious substances seized following the dismantling of the Daesh terrorist cell revealed chemical products used in the manufacture of explosives and a deadly poison whose effects are dangerous to humans, according to a statement from the Ministry of the Environment.
The weapons seized as part of this dismantling on October 25, 2019 were scrutinized as well as the rest of the confiscated electronic products. According to the results of this expertise, these weapons are in good condition and ready for use.
As for the other chemical products, the experts attest that they are the components used to produce energy and to increase the power of the explosion.
For now, the investigations continue with the accused under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office.
It should be noted that the dismantling of the terrorist cell in Tamaris (Suburb of Casablanca), Ouezzane and Chefchaouen, led to the arrest of seven individuals.
These defendants were planning to carry out a series of terrorist operations against sensitive infrastructures and strategic sites, with a view to proclaiming a Wilaya affiliated with the terrorist organization under the name of "the Daesh Wilaya in the Islamic Maghreb", added the same source.
