Morocco Foils Daesh-Linked Terror Plot Targeting Multiple Cities

A bloodbath narrowly avoided in Morocco thanks to the promptness and efficiency of the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ). It succeeded in dismantling, on Thursday, September 5, the cell linked to Daesh, which was planning to carry out bloody operations in several cities of the Kingdom.
Five extremists who were planning to carry out bloody attacks in several Moroccan cities have been apprehended thanks to the dismantling of the terrorist cell they were members of. According to Assabah, the accused intended to attack the Spanish Civil Guard at the border posts of Nador and Melilla.
They were planning, according to the same source, to carry out attacks in Saïdia, Tangier and Casablanca. They were waiting, according to the newspaper, for a Daesh official to visit in order to train and manufacture explosive devices. The operation led to the seizure of electronic equipment and bladed weapons.
This dismantling is part of efforts to address terrorist threats. The five extremists will answer for their crime before the courts after the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office.
