ISIS-Linked Terror Cell Dismantled in Morocco, Planned Major Attacks

We now know a little more about the terrorist cell that was dismantled last Friday. The director of the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ), Abdelhak Khiam, during a press conference, provided more details on the members and the organization they depend on, as well as the project to shed the blood of innocents they were planning before being stopped in their tracks.
This terrorist cell is made up of seven members linked to the so-called "Islamic State" organization operating in Casablanca, Ouezzane and Chefchaouen. According to the director of the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations, they were planning to sow psychosis. In any case, according to Abdelhak Khiam, their project was at an advanced stage and targeted very sensitive sites for the security and economy of Morocco.
According to the MAP, during his press conference, the BCIJ director stated that the members were in the process of proclaiming a wilaya affiliated with Daesh under the name "Wilayat Al Maghrib Al islami". He recalled that the elements of this cell had pledged allegiance to the leader of this terrorist organization "Abou Bakr Al Baghdadi" killed a few days ago. When asked about the impact of Abou Bakr Al Baghdadi’s death on Daesh’s activity, Khiam stressed that the war on terrorism cannot be linked to a single person but to an ideology that is still being conveyed by this terrorist organization.
According to the Moroccan official, the investigation is still ongoing regarding the dismantled cell and a profile of the leader of this terrorist cell, who would be a Syrian, is being drawn up.
