Morocco’s Final Cabinet Meeting Set for Tuesday as Government Reshuffle Looms

The last Council of Government under the chairmanship of its Head, Saâd Eddine El Othmani, is scheduled for this Tuesday, October 8. The session should be largely devoted to measures relating to the preparation of the 2020 Finance Bill.
During this very last Council of Government, several ministers as well as some state secretaries will bid farewell to their colleagues.
Sources close to the Government indicate that the new governmental architecture provides for between 21 and 23 ministers with a distribution maintaining the representativeness rate of each of the components of the majority.
However, this new majority of Saâd Eddine El Othmani will be composed of only five parties instead of six. The withdrawal of the Party of Progress and Socialism (PPS) has been taken into account.
The Central Committee of this political party voted in favor of this decision taken by the Political Bureau, during a meeting marked by clashes between comrades.
