Morocco’s King Rejects Key Figures in Prime Minister’s Cabinet Reshuffle

The position of the Head of Government, Saâd Eddine El Othmani, is not the most comfortable at the moment. The imminent expiration of the deadline granted to him by King Mohammed VI and the rejection by the Sovereign of certain proposed personalities are far from making his task easier.
The announcement of the new architecture of the Government, which was supposed to take place before the opening of the parliamentary session on October 11, seems to be thwarted by a royal veto.
According to the Akhbarona website, Mohammed VI would have rejected the appointment of certain well-known figures, linked to certain political parties.
Despite the efforts made by El Othmani to reduce the number of ministers within the Executive, and the many negotiations undertaken with the members of different political formations, the new government is not about to see the light of day.
The Head of Government seems to have found himself in a dead end, being unable to impose on the members of the governmental alliance candidatures with high potential, as recommended by the Sovereign.
