Morocco Faces ’Group of Death’ in Africa Cup of Nations Draw

It won’t be a walk in the park for the Moroccan football team, which has just inherited a more than difficult group at the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2019) whose draw took place yesterday in Cairo.
In this Group D, which some already describe as the "group of death", we find Côte d’Ivoire, South Africa and Namibia, which makes Hervé Renard say that it is "tough." "The group in which the Atlas Lions have been placed is tough and difficult, but the team is experienced in this African competition and will prepare well for this trophy," the national coach told the MAP after the draw.
For the French coach, "being housed in a difficult group is for us a source of motivation to deploy all efforts in order to honor Moroccan football," adding that "the opponents are, of course, strong, but Morocco has the necessary assets to sign an honorable participation in this competition."
Hervé Renard also gave a good point to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) for the efforts made to ensure good conditions for the national team, stating that the Atlas Lions are determined to "sign a good performance," recalling that of the World Cup in Russia.
