Egypt Set to Hire Morocco’s Coach Hervé Renard After African Cup

The divorce between the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and Hervé Renard now seems to be consummated. After the 2019 CAN, the French coach should land in Egypt.
The French sports newspaper L’Equipe announced the departure of the national coach towards an Egyptian team, with which he has been in discussions for some time. This information supports the end of the adventure with the Atlas Lions at the latest in July, just after the continental competition.
On the other hand, the newspaper suggests that the coach of the Lyon club, Bruno Genesio, will meet the officials of the FRMF at the end of the season, which should coincide with the end of the African competition, and the departure of Hervé Renard. However, the Lyonnais would rather be considered to replace Nacer Larguet, the national technical director.
For several months, Hervé Renard has been the subject of coveting by major clubs on the continent, in particular Zamalek and Al Ahly. And according to the sports newspaper, the discussions would be at a very advanced stage between the club and Hervé Renard.
Let’s remember that the FRMF has already turned the page on the French coach by not sending him an invitation card to an important meeting on the future of Moroccan football. For Hervé Renard "not having been invited to this meeting on the future of the national sports policy of football is a strong sign", adding that henceforth there is no longer any doubt about his sports future at the end of the African Cup.
