Morocco’s Renard Aims for Historic Third Africa Cup of Nations Title

The national coach, Hervé Renard, is the first coach to have won two Africa Cup of Nations with two different national teams. His wish is to win a third African trophy with Morocco, at the 2019 CAN in Egypt.
Winner of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) with Zambia in 2012 and Côte d’Ivoire in 2015, Hervé Renard dreams of being able to lift the Cup with the Atlas Lions at the next edition.
In a statement to the official website of the Confederation of African Football, the coach explains: "We are in a difficult group, and we must remain very focused on our journey in Egypt. We must be ready from the first match, and achieve an excellent result to be more confident in the following matches".
Answering the question of whether he could lead the national team to glory, he was humble: "I don’t know, anything is possible in football. But we have to focus on the first match above all, it’s the most important one, and we’ll see as we go along. We’re playing in a tough group, and we’ll be there with a lot of ambition and respect for our competitors".
The national coach adds: "We have great ambitions, and we have to beat everyone. We have an excellent team, and we have to remain confident," before concluding: "We hope to go far in the competition".
