Hervé Renard Appointed as Saudi Arabia’s National Soccer Coach

According to Saudi media, Hervé Renard has signed his contract with the Saudi Football Federation. The French coach would have signed for a period of two and a half years.
The sports website, Sport24, confirmed on Sunday, July 28, 2019, that the Saudi Football Federation has agreed to the terms of the contract with Hervé Renard. He is about to replace the former coach, the Argentine, Juan Pizzi.
At 50 years old, the former coach of the "Atlas Lions" has never been in charge of an Asian national team. After a stint in Ivory Coast, Zambia, Angola, twice, and Morocco, the French coach will experience his fifth national team coaching experience, with the Saudi Arabian team.
His last experience, with the "Atlas Lions", during the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) in Egypt, ended with the elimination of this team in the round of 16 of the competition. He is the first coach to have won two Africa Cups: with Zambia in 2012 and Ivory Coast in 2015.
