Egypt’s Al Ahly Pursues Morocco Coach Hervé Renard Amid Managerial Shake-up
What if the coach of the Moroccan national football team Hervé Renard flew to Egypt? This is at least the wish of the Al Ahly team, which would have already initiated first contacts with the French coach.
It is several Egyptian media that mention contacts between the officials of the Al Ahly team and Hervé Renard, who was last Friday in Cairo to participate in the draw for the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2019). According to these rumors, the Egyptian club is looking to replace Uruguayan Martin Lasarte, who arrived last year but could leave at the end of this season due to lack of results.
Rumors of Hervé Renard’s departure are regularly announced by the media, whether Moroccan or foreign, and these are very often denied by the interested party himself via his accounts on social networks or by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) through a press release.
The latest rumor spoke of a departure to Iran, according to the local press, which even reported a preliminary agreement between Hervé Renard and the Iranian football federation to become the next coach of Iran.
