Morocco Extends Vehicle Import Deadline for Expats and Tourists Amid Travel Restrictions

The Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration (ADII) has decided to extend the deadline for temporary admission of vehicles of Moroccans residing abroad (MREs) and foreign tourists registered abroad until June 30, 2021.
In a circular, customs announced the good news to tourists and MREs whose Temporary Admission (AT) validity period is expiring. This measure comes in response to the difficulties in international travel encountered by this category of people due to the coronavirus epidemic.
Customs has also decided to grant this measure to cases of AT of tourist vehicles expiring during the first half of 2021. It invites the persons concerned to approach the customs services close to their place of residence in Morocco to be issued the new AT cards.
This extension comes after the one decided last July by customs the day after the closure of borders to counter the Covid-19 epidemic.
