Morocco Extends Tourist Vehicle Import Permits to June 2022 Amid COVID-19 Travel Disruptions

The Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration (ADII) has just extended the validity period of temporary admission of tourist vehicles, motorcycles and pleasure boats imported by non-resident individuals in Morocco.
"The validity period of Temporary Admissions (AT) of tourist vehicles expiring during the years 2020 and 2021 has been exceptionally extended until 12/31/2021 in order to mitigate the negative repercussions imposed by the Covid-19 health crisis, particularly on the movements of travelers abroad," the customs administration said in a circular dated December 20, 2021.

Faced with the ongoing health crisis, the customs institution has also decided to "extend the validity period of ATs for tourist vehicles, motorcycles and pleasure boats until June 30, 2022, without legal consequences," adding that this period may be automatically modified on the customs computer system.
The customs administration also invited the persons concerned to contact the customs office in their place of residence in Morocco to exchange their old AT card for the new one.
