Morocco Extends Vehicle Import Deadline for Non-Residents to June 30 Amid Travel Restrictions

The expiration deadline for temporary admissions of passenger vehicles imported by non-resident motorists to Morocco has been extended until June 30, 2021. The announcement was made by the Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration through a circular.
The decision to extend the temporary admission of passenger vehicles until June 30, 2021 was made due to the persistence of travel difficulties abroad, due to the health crisis. Thus, for the implementation of this measure, the validity period of the temporary admissions concerned will be automatically modified in the computer system of this administration, to take into account the new deadline, the letter from the Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration indicated.
In addition, the holders of the temporary admissions concerned, or any person authorized to use the temporarily admitted vehicles, are called upon to go to the customs services closest to their place of residence in Morocco, to obtain the new temporary admission cards. Furthermore, this measure will also apply to cases of temporary admissions of passenger vehicles expiring during the first half of 2021.
It should be recalled that the administration had already decided to authorize the postponement until the end of December 2020 of the deadline for admissions expiring during the year 2020, in order to mitigate the effects caused by the health crisis.
