Morocco Extends Newborn Registration Deadline to July 10 Amid Pandemic Disruptions

Since the establishment of the state of emergency, the deadlines for registering newborns in the civil status registers have been suspended. More than two months later, a new schedule has been established.

According to l’Économiste, the registration deadline runs until July 10 for births between February 20 and June 10. For babies born between February 20 and 29, the number of days until the declaration of the state of emergency will be counted, it is specified.

According to the same daily, the deadline will be calculated pro rata, starting June 11, i.e. one day after the lifting of confinement. Thus, the deadline will vary between one day for the registration of newborns on February 20 and 10 days for those of February 29.
