Morocco Suspends Civil Registry Deadlines During Health Emergency

The Ministry of the Interior announced on Tuesday that the regulatory deadlines for civil status declarations will be suspended until the official announcement of the lifting, on April 20, of the state of health emergency decreed on March 20.
Under Article 6 of Decree-Law No. 2.20.292 approved following the state of health emergency announced by the country and the accompanying measures, all deadlines provided for in legal and regulatory texts will be suspended during the period.
The resumption of the aforementioned deadlines will take place the day after the lifting of the state of health emergency. The Ministry of the Interior has called on all citizens "not to go to the civil status offices to declare births and deaths until the end of the lifting of the state of emergency, in order to preserve their safety as well as that of the civil servants of the public services".
