Morocco Extends Lockdown Despite ’Controlled’ COVID-19 Situation, Minister Says

Even though the Minister of Health stated before the House of Councillors that "the epidemiological situation in Morocco is under control for the moment", the lockdown is not lifted.
Khalid Ait Taleb indicated that covid-19 screening tests will be extended and diversified as part of a strategy to prepare for deconfinement.
For the minister, "the kingdom is still in the 2nd phase of the spread of the coronavirus" and "the measures taken have allowed Morocco to avoid 6,000 deaths", according to studies.
Regarding large-scale laboratory analyzes, the minister stated that this remains "possible", but that this process risks exhausting the screening tools. Khalid Ait Taleb called for vigilance, as "the epidemic can intensify".
