Morocco to Implement Phased Approach for Easing COVID-19 Lockdown, PM Announces

The Head of Government, Saâdeddine El Othmani, announced on Tuesday, April 21, before the House of Councillors, that the lifting of confinement will be done gradually, depending on the epidemiological situation of the regions.
During the monthly session devoted to general policy, the Head of the Executive specified that deconfinement requires a particular pedagogical and strategic approach, the study of which has been entrusted to the joint commission for epidemiological surveillance.
The lifting of the health confinement should respect the epidemiological specificities of each region, knowing that the return to "normal" life will not happen overnight.
El Othmani added that the principles of the gradual lifting of the quarantine, currently under study, will be communicated at the appropriate time.
