Morocco’s Early COVID-19 Response Prevented 6,000 Deaths, Health Minister Says

In response to a question asked about the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic, in the House of Councillors, Minister Ait Taleb indicated that the measures taken, on the high royal instructions, have allowed Morocco to avoid 6,000 deaths.
The Minister of Health noted that "the national system of epidemiological monitoring and surveillance is following all the news and information related to the virus. He assures that "Morocco is one of the first countries to prepare to face this pandemic".
Before the advisers, Khalid Ait Thaleb also "affirmed that after the proclamation of the state of health emergency and the closure of the borders, the kingdom has experienced an epidemiological transition of the virus", specifying that local infection cases are now in the majority.
