Morocco Expands National Motorway Network with Major Infrastructure Projects

The Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, announced a series of infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening the national motorway network in Morocco. These projects should contribute to improving mobility in different regions of the Kingdom.

Among these projects, we can mention the tripling of the Casablanca-Berrechid motorway and that of the Casablanca ring road, which will have a positive impact on traffic between the north and south of the country. The minister also mentioned the construction of the Tit Mellil-Berrechid motorway, as well as the project of the Guercif-Nador motorway, which extends over 104 km and whose cost amounts to 5.5 billion DH.

In addition, the minister highlighted the importance of the continental motorway project Rabat-Casablanca over 59 km, as well as the finalization of the study for the construction of the motorway connecting Rabat, Marrakech and Fez, via Beni Mellal and Khénifra. These projects are intended to support the economic development of different regions of the Kingdom, it is said.

Here is the list of motorway projects announced by Nizar Baraka:

• Tripling of the Casablanca-Berrechid motorway
• Tripling of the Casablanca ring road
• Construction of the Tit Mellil-Berrechid motorway over 30 km
• Construction of the Guercif-Nador motorway over 104 km
• Project of the continental motorway Rabat-Casablanca over 59 km
• Finalization of the study for the construction of the motorway connecting Rabat, Marrakech and Fez, via Beni Mellal and Khénifra.
