Morocco Invests 735 Million Euros in Major Highway Expansion Projects

The National Motorway Company of Morocco (ADM) is active in expanding its network. Part of the budget for the construction of the new highway between Tit Mellil and Berrechid and the continental highway connecting the capital Rabat to the city of Casablanca has been approved.

ADM is accelerating the Tit Mellil-Berrechid highway and the Rabat-Casablanca continental highway, which will be carried out as part of its three-year investment program of 8.4 billion dirhams (735 million euros). During a meeting held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of the Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, the company’s board of directors approved the budget for the first year 2024, estimated at 1.6 billion dirhams. The two other budgets remain to be approved: 3 billion dirhams for 2025 and 3.7 billion dirhams for 2026. ADM’s turnover should reach 8.8 billion dirhams in 2024 and 2025, reaching 8.9 billion dirhams in 2026.

ADM will not abandon the work on the last two sections of the tripling of the Casablanca-Berrechid highway and the Casablanca bypass highway, as well as the construction of the new Tit Mellil-Berrechid highway. The company plans to allocate an investment envelope of 2.1 billion dirhams for this. In a press release, it specifies that this investment, which is part of the investment programs dedicated to public companies and establishments, covering in particular the energy, telecommunications, housing, agriculture, electricity, drinking water, phosphates and their derivatives, highways and air, maritime and rail transport sectors, will also be used to strengthen the security system for highway users and to ensure the monitoring of the highway automation program.
