Morocco Evaluating Acquisition of Chinese TB-001 Combat Drone
Contrary to the information published by some online media, Morocco has not acquired the Chinese combat drone TB-001, nicknamed the "Twin-Tailed Scorpion".
While the X account "mog_china", specialized in Chinese news and followed by several tens of thousands of subscribers and online media such as Army Recognition, The Defense Post, SSBCrack and Blaze Trends reported that the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) had already integrated the Chinese combat drone TB-001 into their fleet, sources at Barlamane assure that Morocco is evaluating the acquisition of this aircraft. No transaction has been finalized to date, the same sources added.
Designed by the Chinese group Sichuan Tengden, the TB-001 K drone stands out for its ability to carry up to 1.5 tons of ammunition and for its exceptional autonomy, which can reach 8,000 kilometers with a continuous flight endurance of 40 hours. The aircraft can also operate at a maximum altitude of 10,000 meters, which gives it a strategic role in reconnaissance and attack missions.
The TB-001 is a twin-engine, twin-tail reconnaissance and attack drone. It can be dedicated to emergency rescue, patrol and transport missions. Built mainly of composite materials, the Chinese drone can carry a variety of lightweight missiles for ground attacks, such as light vehicles and personnel.
