Morocco Emerges as Top Destination from Brussels Airport, Passenger Numbers Surge

The strong recovery in traffic observed this summer at Brussels Airport continues after the holiday period. Morocco is among the ten most visited countries from Brussels Airport, which welcomed two million passengers in September.
"September marks an increase in business travelers. We continue to see a growing proportion of Dutch travelers opting for Brussels Airport to escape the crowds at Dutch airports," says Brussel Airport.
The ten most visited countries in September from Brussels are Morocco, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Germany, Greece, Portugal, the United States, France, and the United Kingdom. Morocco, Turkey, Greece and the United States exceeded the September 2019 results, it is specified.
Freight transport at Brussels Airport fell by 5% in September compared to the same period in 2021 and increased by 30% compared to 2019. Air freight volumes also recorded a 5% decrease compared to 2021.
As for the total number of flight movements, it increased by 24% in September compared to the same month in 2021, but remains down 19% compared to September 2019. As for the average number of passengers per flight, it is 142, compared to 132 in 2019.
