Brussels Airport Sees Summer Surge in Passengers, Morocco Boosts Traffic

Passenger traffic at Brussels Airport (Brussels-Zaventem) increased sharply in August thanks in part to Morocco, one of the ten most important countries last month.
During the summer holidays, between Friday, July 1 and Wednesday, August 31, Brussels Airport welcomed some 4.4 million passengers, which represents 81% of the number of passengers in the summer of 2019. A more than positive result that exceeds initial estimates, in particular thanks to a larger number of Dutch travelers, but also thanks to last-minute bookings for the summer holidays, notes Brussels Airport.
These performances were achieved thanks to the ten most important countries in August. These countries are Spain, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Morocco, Germany, Portugal, the United States, France and the United Kingdom. Turkey, Greece, Morocco and the United States exceeded the August 2019 results, it is specified. In the top 10 destinations, we find Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon, Alicante, Rome, Istanbul, New York, Malaga, Frankfurt and Dublin
