Morocco Helps Drive 65% Passenger Surge at Brussels Airport in February

The attendance at Brussels Airport (Brussels-Zaventem) increased by 65% in February 2023 compared to the same period last year. This is partly due to Morocco, one of the ten most visited countries last month.
The number of passengers passing through Brussels-Zaventem airport last February stands at nearly 1.4 million passengers, an increase of 65% compared to February 2022 when travel restrictions related to the Omicron variant were still in effect. According to the explanations of the Brussels capital airport, the Carnival holidays, which were spread over two weeks (until March) for French-speaking schoolchildren, against one for Dutch-speakers, positively influenced the attendance figures, with also more passengers departing than arriving, reports Air Journal.
These performances were achieved thanks to the most visited countries in February. Spain is at the top of the top 10, followed by Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, France, the United States. Turkey, Portugal and Morocco close the podium.
