More than two million passengers were welcomed in May at Brussels Airport, a figure up 22% compared to the same period last year, thanks in particular to travelers to Morocco.
Belgium staggered its spring holidays, which, combined with the Dutch holidays and long weekends, increased the number of passengers. In addition, the bad weather in April prompted many travelers to book flights to sunnier destinations in May.
The most visited countries, in order, were Spain, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Greece, Portugal, France, the United States, Morocco and the United Kingdom. In total, 2,071,182 passengers crossed the gates of Brussels Airport last month.
