Brussels Airport Sees 18% Passenger Surge as Moroccan and European Travel Booms

Morocco, Spain, Italy and Germany were among the 10 most visited destinations by Belgians last month. As a result: Brussels Airport (Brussels-Zaventem) sees its attendance increase by 18% in April 2023 compared to the same period last year.
The number of passengers passing through Brussels-Zaventem airport last April stands at 1,852,523 passengers, an increase of 18% compared to April 2022. According to the explanations of the airport of the Belgian capital, the Easter holidays in Flemish education stimulated, during the first half of April, the high number of vacationers, reports Air Journal. In addition, the spring holidays in French-speaking education fell for the first time in May. Result: vacationers are now more spread out in Belgium.
These performances were achieved thanks to the most popular countries in April. At the top of the top 10 is Spain. It is followed by Italy, Germany, Portugal, the United States, Turkey, France and the United Kingdom. Switzerland and Morocco close the podium.
