Morocco’s Eid al-Adha 2024 Date Set for June 17, Astronomers Predict

The first day of Eid al-Adha in Morocco will be celebrated on Monday, June 17, 2024, corresponding to the 10th day of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah of the year 1445 of the Hijri calendar. This announcement comes from the astronomical calculations made by scientists.
The observation of the crescent moon announcing the beginning of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah should take place on Friday, June 7, 2024. As the weather conditions are favorable for this observation, the confirmation should only be a formality.
Consequently, the festivities of Eid al-Adha in Morocco will last for three full days, from Monday, June 17 to Wednesday, June 19, 2024.
Despite this confirmation by scientific calculations, Morocco remains very attached to tradition. The date of Eid al-Adha will therefore be announced by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs.
